Howdy folks. Today’s post is to let you know that Hilary is going on a book tour to promote her memoir DANGLED CARAT. She’ll be popping up in the blogosphere from March 31st (oops, I’m a day late like normal) to April 28th. Here’s the link so you can follow her. Before I share the synopsis of her book, there’s something important I want to tell you. Don’t miss out on your chance of winning a $35 Amazon gift card and a $25 Victoria Secret gift card. Visit Hilary’s blog to enter.
One more announcement. After the tour, Hilary is going to stop by here to tell us about her experience. Things are always changing in today’s world and that includes book promotion. She’s going to help us stay in the loop. I’ve found authors are extremely helpful and always willing to share what they think works and what doesn’t. So stay tuned. And I would like to thank Hilary in advance and wish her the best of luck.
Dangled Carat:
Hilary had gotten used to dating the commitment-phobic Marc, thirteen years her senior. They had a great relationship–why rush into things? She saw no need to pressure him for marriage, believing that when the time was right, he would propose. But after they had been together for four years, their friends decided to take matters into their own hands, pushing Marc to propose and making Hilary realize how much she really did want to marry the man that she loved. Unfortunately, Marc still wasn’t ready–and their friends’ meddling in the form of a faux engagement party led to a disastrous New Year’s Eve that brought their relationship to an inevitable turning point.
smile – will men ever be ready … in a marriage??? Nice give away.
Commitment issues won’t be going away anytime soon, I don’t think.
Commitment is difficult thing … in every aspect of life and we fluctuate a lot. *smile
Yes, and growing together is key, but not always achieved.
You’re so right .. but all my friends – all of them .. they have grown apart in their marriage – so sad.
Really? that’s horrible
Yes, it’s … not one of my friends are still married with their first partner ..
That’s a shame, but hopefully they’re happy now.
They … seams to be – but who knows … my mom was married 4 times .. and still didn’t find the happiness she was looking for.
I’m sorry to hear that.
Viveka – You ask a very good question… But I sometimes think that men’s hesitation isn’t always a bad thing. I think they are more analytical than us… I am so sorry about your friends…
I’ve seen you feature this book before and it definitely sounded awesome before I can’t wait to hear how her book tour went. I think this series you do on authors and highlighting their experience in the publishing world is awesome. There’s so much that we can learn from everyone else and their journey. Thanks for posting this … I’ll be catching up one post at a time 🙂
I’m always amazed by how much authors are willing to share. It’s a wonderful community and I’m proud to be part of it. Take your time. you have your hands full with writing, Lego adventures, and the little guats.
The Guat – isn’t TB amazing! She really is a wonderful friend and supporter of us authors I don’t know how I would do this without her!
My husband can’t go into Victoria Secret’s anymore.
Uh oh … I’m sensing a story 🙂
*shrugs*
Apparently Victoria Secret is required to let anyone try on their clothes.
Apparently Victoria Secret is NOT required to let a 300 pound man model a purple thong for his best friend out side of the dressing room.
Ah, I see. Was it just because he was a man or are all people required to stay inside the dressing room? I know at the Gap I can model a pair of jeans, but I never thought about modeling my bra and panties for the whole store to see. And I probably won’t–way too shy. I was the girl in gym class you mastered changing my clothes without showing any skin.
Casey – seriously? Oh wait.. yesterday was april fools!
No, I’m being serious. He’s been banned from Victoria Secret, a grocery store and Wal-Mart in his home town, and the Wal-Mart here (twice).
Ya know, TBM, I never thought to ask. Odds are you’re not allowed to run around mostly undressed in any public forum. Then again, I’m not well known for running around sans clothing myself.
Well I hope they weren’t discriminating. And he has quite a record at several stores. Is his mugshot up on broads stating, “Do not let this man in!” Sounds like a character
Thanks for the tip, TBM. Yesterday, I put Hilary’s book in my wish list. 🙂
I hope you enjoy
I’m sure I will. 🙂
Anotherday2paradise – thank you so much! I hope you get to enjoy it!
A lot of conflict there when the man isn’t ready. Great giveaway.
Yes. her story is touching and full of humor. Good luck in the giveaway!
Medeia – and a lot of humor too! Good luck with the giveaway!
At your recommendation, I read Hilary’s book last month. I really enjoyed her story. 🙂
Glad to hear it.
Jill – thank you so much! you made my day!
I will visit and enter. Thanks for the reminder. I can’t really use a Victoria Secret gift card here, but Amazon would be awesome!
Sorry to have been away all weekend. I don’t know how many posts I may have missed, but it’s going to be a busy month for me–traveling to the beach, teaching a week-long workshop, and having friends visit from the US. Fun, but YIKES!
I don’t know how you manage to post every day. I’m good if I manage once a week. How do you fit it all in? I bet YOU could do the above list in a breeze.
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
First, I hope you have tons of fun. Sounds like you have a lot planned and it all sounds exciting! Second, I don’t post every day. Way back when I did, but I’m managing a lot less blog posts. It’s so hard to keep up with posting and visiting other blogs. Enjoy this month and travel safe.
kathy – TB is an inspiration isn’t she! Have a great month!
Thanks for keeping us up-to-date in the publishing world, it’s always great to learn of new authors and books!
I just wish I could keep up with my reading list
I feel the same way! My kindle is about to explode!
Oh, no – friends meddling, that doesn’t always work out so well. Especially throwing a faux engagement party. Oh my goodness. 🙂
Yeah, that may not have been the best idea, but the intentions sounds good.
It wasn’t the best idea. It wasn’t fun to have to live through it.. but it does make for a good story!
Thank you so much TB for helping me spread the word about the tour and the giveaway! you are an amazing friend! What would I do without you?
My pleasure! I hope I helped some.
