I know 2013 isn’t over yet and I’m not wishing it away. I love November and December. The crisp air, the holidays, the long nights–I just love it. However, I’m trying to get more organized for next year. Organization isn’t my strong suit so we’ll see how it goes. And I can’t take on any more review books for 2013. I have five that I’ve committed to, plus four more for book tours. I foresee a lot of late nights in the very near future. Trust me, I’m not complaining.
Next year I want to read more. I say this every year, but I will really try in 2014. And I need your help to succeed. If you are an author don’t be shy, send me a request for a review. Just remember, I won’t be able to read and review it until 2014. If time isn’t an issue, hop on over to my review policy page. And this isn’t just for indie authors. I love books. I love authors. I don’t care if an author self-published or went the traditional route. All that matters to me is story. If the story is good then I’m in. I do prefer self-published books that have been professionally edited. I’m not an editor (just ask my wonderful and patient editor if you need confirmation), but I am capable of picking up on things. If it’s too painful to read, I may not finish it. If I do finish it, I will mention the lack of editing in my review.
Also if you need help promoting your books, keep me in mind for cover reveals, guest posts, and interviews. I can still fit these in this year. One of the best things about this blog is getting the chance to meet and talk with other authors. So far I’ve met many and have enjoyed each interaction. But I’m greedy and I want to meet more. Again, don’t be shy. Send me an email: tbmarkinson (at) gmail (dot) com and tell me how I can help. Don’t like email, get a hold of me via Twitter , Facebook, or Goodreads.
I’m really looking forward to 2014! What do all of you have planned for the new year?
Ah, dear TBM, what an exciting thing you offer us… How I wished to be good in this language, how I wished… Good Luck for 2014! Thank you, have a nice day and weekend, love, nia
Thanks Nia. And I hope you have a wonderful 2014 as well.
What do I have planned? Reading, reading, reading, and coming to meet you :).
Great plans! Hope you like pubs.
For the food, yes! Just remember, I hardly ever drink anymore, so don’t you and Bunny Chow start conniving to get me drunk :).
Do you think Bunny Chow and I would do such a thing?
Yes I do, and my hubby would probably help you! He doesn’t drink at all, but he gets a laugh out of how little it takes to put me under the table :).
You know, you are making it very tempting to “persuade” you to imbibe. Are we talking table top and lampshade?
Could be after a couple, but any more than that and I would be as sick as a dog!!
Alright, you can have two half pints, and then I’m cutting you off!
We could make it our mission to get Bunny drunk though :).
Are you already plotting!
Your generosity is admirable…thank you for that! Here’s to being organized in 2014!
I have my fingers crossed–it’s a new frontier for me.
I wish I have more time to read 😦
…and write.
Good luck with your books 🙂
Thanks! You watch more movies and TV shows than me and I wish I had more time for those. Have a great weekend!
hahaha…that’s right!
I think I have the wrong book on my hand…I have to find new King’s book to get me in the mood to read again. I can always read King in the middle of my busy work
Have a nice weekend to you too 🙂
Do you mean Doctor Sleep? I hear it’s really good!
I mean ANY King’s book I haven’t read 🙂 as in new on my shelf
Ah, I understand. He’s becoming one of my faves.
What a generous offer! I would love to have you review my book. Once I have the ebook copies I will submit a request for next year.
Have a great weekend!
I’m looking forward to it! Thanks. Putting you first on the 2014 list.
Even though I did not publish my worse seller until last spring, I wish you were on my radar about a year ago when I was working on my slender tome. Your insights are so valuable and your support and enthusiasm for authors is so generous. The cynic in me, who comprises about 99.9% of me, suspects you must be more Watson than human.
Let me know if you want me to read your best seller. I love NY and I love stories that take place there. Was that too pushy?
More Watson–I wish. Maybe I’d have better computer skills and would understand math. My bank would appreciate that.
I don’t think you’re pushy at all. I think quite the contrary. I think you might be a glutton for punishment offering to read so much DIY fare. Rest assured that my volume of lunacy is professionally edited. I did do that right.
I look forward to reading it. And I do enjoy lunacy.
That’s what they all say until the morning after.
LOL … I’m very curious about your book since you always make me laugh.
Prepare for your mirth to come to a screeching halt.
🙂
Fantastic offer! 🙂 I love to read too. I’ve been trying to do more reviews this year myself. Have a great weekend!
I love to read books of all types, since this helps my addiction. I hope you have a great weekend as well!
Wow, this is an awesome offer. In early 2014, I am publishing my first YA novel. Woot. 🙂
Congrats! Keep me in mind for a review. What’s your story about?
I think reading more is a great new years resolution.
Thanks. I hope I can stick with it. At least I know I love to read so I’m not setting myself up for complete failure.
You are so organized! I’m just trying to get through November!
I wish you all the luck with Nano!
