I love a surprise. So when this box arrived a few days ago, I couldn’t wait to open it.
But I did. The Better Half was curious and wanted to witness the opening. Oh the things we do for love. So for five long hours I waited. It wasn’t easy. I briefly considered opening it and then repackaging it. However, I’m a horrible liar and I never get away with it.
As soon as TBH walked through the door, I had scissors in hand to open the package. By the way, please excuse the quality of the photos. I was using my cell phone and I was too excited to get the lighting right.
I wish my handwriting was that neat.
There was a note inside. It reads:
Derek Murphy asked me to send her to you. She’s special, and old, and sometimes we used to think she was real. From Derek, for you, your marionette.
Oh my! The marionette!
Here she is! The marionette that Derek Murphy used to create the cover for my novel, Marionette.
Thanks Derek for the gift. I love it and what a wonderful surprise.
In case you missed yesterday’s post, here’s the cover.
