Today I’m excited to share my review of Katie McKnight’s book, Secrets Revealed.
I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Before I begin my review, here’s the synopsis from Goodreads:
Broadway actress, Melanie O’Shaughnessy and her new husband, Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Carlisle, lived on opposite ends of the country a good part of the year. With their latest projects completed, they leave work, fans, and the paparazzi behind to enjoy an overdue holiday vacation.
When a secret from Melanie’s past brings the celebration to a horrifying halt, Melanie fears a public scandal. What she doesn’t realize, is someone in her life is masterminding a plan for murder.
I’m a sucker for romance and I love suspense. Katie McKnight’s novel has both. The couple, Melanie and Ryan, are sweet. Ryan, a Hollywood heartthrob, has not let his fame and success go to his head. His beautiful wife is a Broadway actress. When the story starts they are reunited after living apart for most of the year due to their professions. All they want is to have a happy Christmas together.
Unfortunately, some nefarious people have a different plan and the couple’s holiday is anything but relaxing. I won’t say too much more about the plot since the best part of this story is the suspense. I knew something was going to happen, but was surprised by everything that did happen.
The story starts off sweet. Ryan and Melanie love each other and before all the craziness starts, the reader gets to know them. It may seem a little slow, but pay attention, since you learn about the characters. When the action started I couldn’t put the book down and stayed up to one in the morning to finish it.
This is McKnight’s debut novel and I’m curious to see where she goes from here. I’ll be keeping an eye on her and I hope her next book comes out soon.
Sounds a good book…
I didn’t want to put it down. I’m a sucker for romance 😉
How’s your writing coming along?
managing to get 5000 odd words a day.. quite happy with that as I have to do a lot of other things as well… like earn money… lol
5000 words. I’m impressed when I get 3000 in. Great job! Seriously, I can’t wait to read your book. Remember me when your famous!
I love it when a book has some unexpected happenings. Makes it a little more interesting to read.
Absolutely! Surprises and twists make me sit up and shout, “I didn’t see that coming!” I then I smack my head.
Reblogged this on hadassaab.
Thanks!
your welcome………..☺ actually i love your post……..♥ & my pleasure………
Ah, thanks!
Now that sounds really good :). What I need to know though is how you keep yourself awake until 1am??? No matter how amazing the book is and how much I want to keep reading, I always end up falling asleep on the couch. It really pisses me off LOL!
I drink lots of tea. And I have insomnia off and on. The tea probably doesn’t help my insomnia, but I’m addicted.
