Happy Monday everyone. I had grand plans this past weekend, which involved a lot of reading and relaxing. My washing machine had a different idea in mind and decided it was the best time to flood my kitchen. Oh well, life is never perfect. If it was, I would be bored out of my mind.
Today I wanted to share a few things with all of you. First, Cloaked in Fur by T. F. Walsh is available today. Hop on over and see her post about the release of her debut novel.
Second, I’ve mentioned to a few of you in my comments that it took six years for The Better Half and I to go on our second date. Not kidding, six years. Today on Dangled Carat I write about why.
Third, Hilary from Feeling Beachie has written a lovely review of my novel, A Womanย Lost.
Thatโs all for today. Even with all the flooding I was able to finish a couple of books this weekend, which I hope to review sometime this week. And T. F. Walsh will be stopping by on August 8th for an interview. I’m really excited to see what she has to say.
Hope all of you have a lovely day!
I just read both of Hilary’s posts and they were spot on!!! So excited that you guys are forging a friendship and that you have so much in common. Of course I absolutely agreed with her review—fabulousness at it’s best!!
Sorry about the washing machine. On the positive side I bet your kitchen floor is squeaky clean now. ๐
Thanks, Beth Ann for the introduction. It’s great making more friends. And all the dishes, walls, and cabinets are clean. Wasn’t digging the brown water that covered everything and I mean everything.
Ugh.
yeah beth ann – thanks for introducing us! I am so glad that I got to know TBM – she is amazing, like you!
Ah, thanks. And Beth Ann and you totally rock!
Who wouldn’t want to be taken to Taco Bell on a date?!
Well I should have sprung for some food. And I love Taco Bell. Haven’t been to one in forever and it’s killing me.
That was the worst part of living there! And it was always the first thing I did when I got back to the states.
I had a hard time finding them in Boston. One of my buddies drove by one to and from work and sometimes she would bring me some. Now I want a bean burrito.
Yeah the only remaining one I’m aware of is at the Galleria in Cambridge. There used to be one in Somerville, a KFC/Taco Bell, but it closed down recently.
There was one in Cambridge!
After reading your post I so wanted to have a taco! I really need to go to a taco bell!
If you do think of me. Can’t find a Taco Bell in London ๐
You should get a top-loading washing machine. ๐
I’ll consider it. The maub issue is that my laundry room is above my kitchen. So when it flooded, it came through the ceiling and soaked everything in my kitchen. It was like I had my very own waterfall in my house.
What a great story… goes to show, sometimes relationships are meant to happen, even if they take a while:) I like Taco Bell too… haven’t had a lot of it, but it is a bit strange for a date:) Thanks for the awesome mention… You are too sweet.
Taco Bell is my favorite fast food place! But I don’t know why I took my date there. Just for the record, I don’t remember taking many dates there. And no problem about the mention. Hope the day is going well!
Sorry about your challenging weekend, but I would have to say that your story on Dangled Carat and Hilary’s awesome review have to pretty much make up for it :). You are getting some amazing exposure for your book, and like I have said before, I think it is going to be crazy successful! I can’t wait for your next book :).
Hilary’s review really made me smile and I appreciate her letting me share my story on Dangled Carat. You won’t have to wait much longer for the next one ๐
Yayyy!! Just finished laundry (daniel’s new job is keeping me busy) and lunch, so now I going out on the deck to read :). Aww, summertime!
Enjoy, Cindy. Raining in London right now so I won’t be reading on the balcony tonight.
Well, that’s a bummer, but reading inside, snuggled up, with the sound of the rain hitting the windows can be kind of nice too :). I love having time to read during the day because every time I read at night I fall asleep, and it pisses me off LOL!
I do the same when I read at night. I had a dream the other night that I fell asleep and dropped my Kindle and it shattered into a million pieces. I was so sad. Then I woke up and my Kindle was safe and sound.
The paranoid dreams of an addicted reader!! Too funny :).
Seriously, I have issues.
LOL!!
I look forward to reading your book!! Sorry about your washing machine, it’s always something๐
There is always something, but as I get older I’m getting better at laughing those things off. Thanks!
Those days are usually not much fun when water finds its way to run freely indoors. Glad you were able to maintain your sense of humor.
I’m sure I looked like an idiot running around finding buckets to catch all the water flowing from the ceiling. My goal was to prevent flooding my neighbors downstairs and I think I was successful. At least no one has been up to yell at me ๐
Loved the story of how you got together – Big Man and I always joke that the first gift he gave me was a cauliflower (true!) so it just goes to show – you don’t need fancy restaurants and candles – Taco Bell and a Cauliflower can work their magic too ๐ Sorry to hear about the washing machine, what a pain….
The Better Half loves Cauliflower. I should have thought of that as part of the Taco Bell trip–next time. And I agree, you don’t need showy stuff. Neither one of us really likes spend a fortune to prove our love. It’s the little things and gestures that matter.
congratulations on the good news part..sorry about the washing machine. oh, just means you did not need clean clothes…:)
you have a lovely day too!
It’s a great excuse not to do laundry this week!
