Review: Cloaked in Fur by T. F. Walsh

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

The synopsis:

Cloaked in Fur CoverAs a moonwulf, Daciana never expected to fall in love with a human. Hell, she never imagined that she’d abandon her pack, endanger everyone around her, and break the worst rule possible. But she did.

A rogue werewolf is killing Daciana’s friends, and she sets on capturing the creature. She’ll do whatever it takes to stop the beast. The police and her boyfriend, Inspector Connell Lonescu, are starting to question her involvement in the murders, which is endangering the pack’s secret existence. But when the pack alpha kidnaps Connell, revealing the awful truth about the creature and its connection to the pack, Daciana must choose between saving the man she loves and saving her pack family from certain death.

The action in this novel kept me glued to my Kindle. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Daciana is a flawed and lovable character. I liked her spunk, wit, and smart ass comments. Each chapter added to the suspense. And the ending left me wanting more.

Another big plus about this novel is the writing. It’s well written and the pace of the novel clips along perfectly for a paranormal romance. Walsh builds up Daciana’s character and leaves room to explore other characters in the next book in the series. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series to see what happens. And I happen to know that Walsh is in the midst of writing book 2. Woohoo!

The novel will be released on August 5th and will be available for purchase from the following sites:

I really enjoyed your book and thanks for letting me in on the fun before the actual publication date. It’s a real honor to have this book be the first review on Making my Mark. Best of luck to you … and please let me know when Book 2 is out. I NEED to know what happens!

  3. Oooh, that sounds really good. I will definitely be checking it out in August! By the way, I love that you were “glued to your Kindle”. I never thought I would hear you say that LOL. I still love to purchase and collect “real” books, but ereaders really are great aren’t they? I carry my Nook with me everywhere :).

I think you would like this one, Cindy. And I never thought I would like a Kindle. Now I love it. So much easier on my eyes and my arms. I hate heavy books, which is why I never buy hardcovers unless I absolutely have to. Maybe I should work out, but now I don’t have to. My Kindle can hold hundreds of books and the weight doesn’t change. Haven’t traveled with it yet–I tend to break things. lately I’ve been reading two paperbacks and one book on my Kindle. I don’t think I’ll ever stop reading books that I can hold and smell. Just as long as they aren’t too heavy.

      • I used my Sony ereader a lot, but I use my Nook HD even more because it is more of a tablet and is therefore backlit. That means I can read in bed without getting yelled at for having the light on LOL!! I usually have a few going on my Nook as well as a regular book for those sunny days when it’s too bright out for electronics. You know what’s really funny? I have started using the dictionary feature on my Nook occasionally when I come across an unfamiliar word, and then when I read a real book I find myself wanting to touch a word on the page to see what it means LMAO!! Then I look around to make sure nobody saw me trying to do it :).

      • TBM says:

I love the dictionary function. I tried it when reading a PDF on my Kindle but obviously it didn’t work. Haven’t tried to tap a word in an actual book. Did you click your heals three times and say the magic word.

      • Oh yes, I tried that when I was trying to “look up” a word in a real book, but alas it didn’t work :).

      • TBM says:

That’s weird. It works for me.

  4. Sounds interesting!
